Why Train Judo?
-
Improved Balance & Coordination – Judo helps you develop body awareness, agility, and precise movement, which translates to better performance in all areas of life and on the mats.
 -
Practical Throws & Takedowns – Learn safe, effective techniques for controlling an opponent and executing throws that work in both Judo and Jiu Jitsu contexts.
 -
Physical Fitness – Every class builds strength, endurance, flexibility, and core stability while keeping training dynamic and engaging.
 -
Mental Focus & Discipline – Judo challenges you to think ahead, react quickly, and maintain composure under pressure — building mental resilience that carries beyond the mat.
 -
Confidence & Self-Empowerment – Mastering throws, grips, and balance teaches students how to rely on skill and technique rather than size or strength, fostering self-assurance and personal growth.

Judo is a dynamic martial art that focuses on throws, balance, and control - blending power with precision. At 608 Jiu Jitsu, we emphasize the fundamentals of Judo as both a self-contained discipline and a powerful complement to Jiu Jitsu. Students learn how to off-balance opponents, execute clean and effective throws, and transition smoothly to ground control.
Our Judo program is taught by Shinya Nishizawa, an experienced Judo black belt, ensuring that every student receives high-level instruction rooted in tradition and effective application. Training focuses on technique first, emphasizing safety, timing, and posture before power or speed.
Whether your goal is to expand your grappling skill set, gain confidence in stand-up exchanges, or simply enjoy a new challenge, Judo offers a rewarding way to grow. The lessons learned on the mats - discipline, patience, and composure - carry far beyond training.
At 608 Jiu Jitsu, we welcome both Judo practitioners and Jiu Jitsu students looking to round out their game. Our classes are open to all experience levels, with an encouraging environment that helps you build skill at your own pace.
